Domaine Gardrat Colombard .The Colombard grape used to produce this fruity and very unusual wine is making a comeback after many years of neglect. Apple and peach flavours with a crisp, clean, long finish makes this wine great value.Colombard is best consumed young and is a perfect accompaniment to both meat and fish dishes. This variety, originally from Charentes, was replaced during the second half of the 20th century by the ugni blanc because it was too sensitive to frost. Today, the colombard grape makes up 5-10% of the grape varieties grown in the Charentes region.Domaine Gardrat Colombard 2019 is a great wine for the money.
